Registered Medical Aid Funds:
The Health -is Vital is a platform in which all registered medical aid schemes can participate in sharing the financial risk of HIV/AIDS by contributing a minimal monthly premium per beneficiary.
Governance:
The Fund is managed by an independent Board of Trustees consisting of representatives of the Healthcare Industry e.g. various Medical Schemes, Medical Schemes Administrators, Healthcare Advisors and Development Partners.
Employer Groups:
Employer Groups of medically uninsured employees can participate through the Vitality Day care option. Employer Groups of medically insured employees can participate through the Vitality option. By taking part in the HIVREF employer groups can offer benefits for the treatment of HIV/AIDS, as well as basic health care benefits.
Administrator:
Administration is managed by MyHealth Administrators.
Development Partner:
PharmAccess is the primary development partner, contributing a monthly donor subsidy towards the premiums of Vitality Day Care (medically uninsured).
Risk Underwriters:
This risk is underwritten by Prosperity Life, a member of the Prosperity Group Namibia.
